Alton Towers announce new "Season Pass" for 2018 Season

Alton Towers
Wednesday 10th January 2018

Alton Towers recently announced a new Season Pass for the 2018 Season, For the price of a standard admission ticket (£55) you can visit for the rest of the 2018 season. Stated in the press release:

New for 2018, Alton Towers Resort offers guests the chance to pay to enter once and come back throughout the season, thanks to the launch of a Season Pass. It will give people the chance to be among the first to ride the brand new Wicker Man, a globally unique rollercoaster experience fusing wood and fire due to open in Spring 2018.

The season pass was available to buy from Monday 8th January, the same day the name for the new GCI Wooden Rollercoaster was announced, however, there are some restrictions when it comes to visiting throughout the year.

The Season Pass will be available from the date of issue until the 4th November, but there are certain dates where the season pass will not be available to use, the Alton Towers website states them as the following:

Excludes Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays in August. 1st & 2nd September. Scarefest (6th - 7th, 13th - 14th, 19th October - 2nd November) & Fireworks (3rd & 4th November))

For the special events such as fireworks and Scarefest, it mentions in the terms and conditions that additional charges apply to enter during these events but it does not state how much.

It is also worth noting that the Alton Towers Annual Pass, a pass that also allowed access into the park for a one-off payment, has since been removed from the parks offering so it is fair to see the annual pass as a replacement for it but the season pass offers less than the annual pass did. With the season pass, car parking is not included as well as the lack of discount on food and beverage, as well as merchandise around the park.

In order to get a season pass, you can buy them online and collect them from the resort hotels before the park opens or buy them on the gate once the season starts. There is also an option to upgrade your ticket at the box office but the cost of this depends on the price of your ticket for entry on that day.
